Valentines day help!!!

Post by hamiltor »

I have put together a nice video for valentines day, a combination of pics and video. The pics work great however whenever a video clip is played in project mode it will not play just remains on first frame until the time has past and then moves to the next clip...this is the case for all video, they are .mov files...

how do i fix this!

help me!

Do your project settings match the video clips properties?

If you create a file does the rendered file play correctly?
Now using Adobe Premiere and Photoshop

bit of a novice here...unsure of what that means...all i did to the clips was transfer them from my camera to my computer as .mov files. In video suite i just added them to my project. They play perfectly fine when you preview them as clips but when previewed as part of the project they only show the first frame, but the music and time caries on until it passses to next clip

I am not the expert on .mov but it shouldn't be any different than other supported media unless there is a bug I am not aware of.

What camera were they transferred from and how were they transferred?

You can find your project properties under the file menu. If you right click on your clip and choose properties it will display the clips properties.
Now using Adobe Premiere and Photoshop

Guy,
MOV files are similar to AVI. MOV are containers for many different Codecs.

As reference import a small dv file and export using the custom setting.
Select *.mov,*.qt then "Options". In the Compression Tab look at all
the different Codecs MOV can use. Then clicking the "Audio" icon you
can see all the audio codecs involved.

My Kodak uses the H.263 Codec 15fps with uLaw2.1 audio 8khz mono.
The Nikon's use Photo JPG 30fps 640x480, audio=non-compressed raw 8khz mono.

The Nikon's "Photo JPG" convert to mpg1/mpg2 easily.

The Kodak's uLaw2.1 audio is a problem with the H.263 video codec.
Converting the Kodak's is tricky.

Hi Ron

Video Studio preview can be poor when playing in project mode especially if you have a slow computer.

What is your pc spec, fill in the details in your profile.

Switch off all background processes when working with VS
Defragging your drives may help.

If you change File–Preferences—Playback Method to High Quality Playback

VS will render the project to temp preview files, (file-Preferences-Preview Tab shows location of these files) the project plays back uses these files, just like playing the in clip mode.

Playback should be good.
Subsequent editing will render again but only the edited parts making render faster.

Again fill in your pc spec in your profile!

Hope this Helps
