SerializeBB Error: What's this??!
Something happened VideoStudio, and it's saying "SerializeBB Error", then "Load From Stream Error", then "SerializeBB Error" again, and then the program shuts down. What's going on!?? I'm using Windows XP with Ulead VideoStudio 9.0 Upgrade package.

Re: SerializeBB Error: What's this??!
I just got the same error. VS 2020 (latest updates) on Win10. VS crashed and closed while I was editing. Now I can't launch it anymore --- SerializeBB Error.

You should have started a new post, rather than hijacking a 15 year old post
Anyway, go to C'\Users\********\AppData\Roaming\ULeadsystems\CorelVideoStudioPro(x64)\22.0 find and delete VS_Image.Dat and VS_Video.Dat this should reset those folders when you reopen and hopefully that should fix the error

Thanks RobertOZ. I will try this. And I wasn't my intention to hijack anything - a innocent heat of the moment reply, is all.

Re: SerializeBB Error: What's this??!
I'm not going to hijack this post either but am going to post this here becasuse when you Google SerializeBB Error for Corel Video Studio Ultimate 2018 there are no results except this post. I too have this error. It appeared in the middle of an edit of a VSP and then the program locks up. Used Task Mgr. to close program and now program won't launch even after a reboot. Now you have heard of 3 instances of this error.
Deleting these files on my Windows 10 machine didn't help either.
C'\Users\********\AppData\Roaming\ULeadsystems\CorelVideoStudioPro(x64)\22.0 find and delete VS_Image.Dat and VS_Video.Dat

Have used Corel products since CorelDraw 2.01. I drank the Kool-Aid.

Re: SerializeBB Error: What's this??!
Hi John
Sorry you are having these problems, I don’t know what "SerializeBB Error" nor "Load From Stream Error” although have seen the latter, neither do I recall reading this post.
It’s a bit unfortunate that the original posters did not reply to say if they fixed this issue.
"Load From Stream Error” I believe was associated with a corrupt library.
Tracking down these errors is a lot of trial and error, assuming you can repeat the errors.
Usually if VS does not start it may be hanging in the Background Processes (Task Manager)
John can you say if you finally managed to launch Video Studio 2018.
If no then you should re-install using the Cleanup tools to remove the program.
If you can run the program, check the library to make sure all looks ok, Export Library to create a backup, then reset Library.
How do you try to launch the program, do not double click a VSP project file, best to start from the desktop icon or start menu

Re: SerializeBB Error: What's this??!
Hi lata,
Thanks for the reply. I can not launch the program by any means. I get the white box with "SerializeBB Error" and a place to click OK but it just loops when OK is clicked & finally I have to use Task Mgr. to end the program. I'm going to try to work from my laptop which has VS Ultimate 2022 installed then come back to this problem next week. I have a meeting Saturday that I have to have the video done for & I'm only half way through editing.

I just don’t know what to suggest just clutching at straws.
If its a registration issue you could try running vs without the Internet.
That should rule out the corel server.
With this continuing to fail you have little choice but to re-install.
Use the cleanup tool to remove the program

Re: SerializeBB Error: What's this??!
Thanks everyone for the responses. I was able to finish the video on my laptop with VS 2022 although it was tedious working with the 15" screen as opposed to the 23" screen on my desktop. At any rate, I needed to burn a DVD and normally a Blu-ray DVD as a backup for my presentation. Since my laptop has no DVD tray and I spent all morning looking for my powered USB hub to attach the portable DVD tray. Found it after 2 hours!!! Story of my life lately as in the past 2 years we moved after 44 years in the same location. Still have boxes & boxes to put away LOL.
I was just going to use a thumb drive to burn the video from my desktop but, thought I would give VS 2018 on the desktop another shot. Same results so I started Googling Corel VideoStudio Ultimate 2018 hangs on APLoading MFC Application. This is where loading seemed to stop as shown in Task Manager. After some sifting I ran across a video, "5 TIPS to stop Corel Videostudio from freezing" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3qreZW9LC4&t=101s). I thought I had nothing to loose so followed the first recommended step, which was to do a Windows search for %appdata%. Then selected Ulead Systems from the list. Then renamed, in my case, 21.0 to 21.0old. Then launched VS. It took a while but eventually it started up just fine. I just am missing my custom libraries which I can rebuild. I did follow some of the other recommended steps but the good news is VS did launch and is working again!
Hope this helps someone else.

Hi John
Good to know you have Video Studio running again, that folder known as a reset folder has been used before. In fact you mentioned it in an earlier post, although did not seem to help that time.
