Are there any leads that I can buy, and if so from where, so that I am able to tranfer video from my VCR to my firewire and capture/edit the video on videostudio9

If you do a Google on "Analog video to firewire" you will get a bunch of hits. I'm not sure how well any of these products work as I use an analog capture card myself.
Now using Adobe Premiere and Photoshop

You cannot just use a lead cgflembo - VCR output and firewire are not compatible as they stand - you need some sort of analogue to digital converter in between your VCR and your PC

Digital video cameras often have analog A/V inputs. If you have one, you may be able to use it in "pass-thru" mode as an analog to Firewire converter.

ATI Makes the very popular All-In-Wonder video capture cards.

Pinnacle makes capture cards and external USB capture devices. The Pinnacle cards come with Pinnacle Studio which (I think) is similar to Ulead Video Studio.

I have a Hauppauge capture card. The Hauppauge cards are MPEG only. This is generally BAD, as MPEGs are not meant to be edited.

Most internal video capture cards have a TV tuner, so you can use your computer as a TiVo.
