Visual Studio 8 Updates - To Apply or Not To Apply??

Post by RDK45 »

I've been reading selected posts in this forum and there seems to be a theme that some of the ULead updates are causing more problems then they are fixing. Can someone please clear the air on which updates we should apply which we should not? And/or what are the trade-offs.

Thanks.....RDK

IMHO, apply the V8.01 patch, and the DST patch. If you have no problems burning CDs/DVDs, leave it at that. Otherwise, apply the Burning Engine patch, and if needed, replace some of the files if audio/video sync issues turn up as described by John Warner.

I'd like to apply these patches but it wont let me. When I try it says that it can't find VS8 on my system. Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling etc. All to no avail. Grrrrrr!!!!

To Apply or Not to Apply ??

Thanks, I have already applied the 8.01 and the 3615232.zip version of the burning engine. I am having some audio sync issues when capturing VHS tapes from my VCR via my Sony Digital video camera (TRV330) and a Firewire connection. Audio is a fraction of a second early after about 2 hrs of tape.

I will apply the DST patch and then the latest Burning Engine patch. And then the Zip file from John Warner, if necessary.

What about the 16x DVD Burning patch?

Thanks....Rob
