Hi everyone,
Just bought a Creative Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor and I understand that with the Composite Out, Audio Left and Audio Right output plus a Composite to SCART cable you can transfer things from your camcorder to your PC, then after having edited it, you can transfer it from your PC to your VCR.
However, I'm having a lot of trouble working out how to do this because I cannot see any option in VideoStudio where you can select the Audigy as the output device.
I was wondering, is what I want to do actually possible with this Audigy? am I not looking hard enough for the option? or is my audigy broken?
Regards,

Hi there,
I have the same Audigy and I got a bit further. When I installed the Ulead Videostudio 8 SE shipped with the box everything works fine. You can select the capture Device (Creative ...), but this might not be necessary, cause it should be set up as default. So I can grab AV / SVideo / DV.
My problem is, that the 8 SE Version does not support time based scene detection. To achieve this, I tried to update to Videostudio 9 (or Mediastudio 8 Pro) using a trial version. Unfortunately the Creative capture driver is not installed. I tried to do this afterwards: I copied the creative dlls from the 9 SE to the 9 directory and updated the .ini in the Ulead.dat. -- but no success.
Any ideas how to update from 8 SE to 9 with enabled Creative Capture?
THX, Andreas

Hi,
You have a special version of 8.
It probably possible to look at the ini configuration files for version 8
and add the capture device in VS9's configuration.
Write to ulead.
A solution is to capture in 8se and edit in VS9.
Outputting is done in VS8 or VS9 via the DV connector and the material must be in DV format for digital output/transfer.
That is mainly for DV Camcorders although I use this feature to output to dvd recorders. One of the ADS External video units are Bi-Directional.
Analog input is done via the capture card.
Analog Outputting is done by your video card. See if there's a connector
on the back on the video card to connect to a TV.
So to output out to a VHS tape/dvd recorder to TV you use the video cards hardware and software.
Most cards today come with at least a composite output connector.
The audio is simply from your audio card's output.
You cannot output DVD Copy-Protected material with this method.
Hope this helps,
MD
