Is There A Way To Copy A Keyframe?

Post by Chaser »

I've looked in the Help file, but find no reference to this. I want to make an object move from the right to the left, however I want it to pause at the middle of the screen for a bit. Right to Left is no problem, and setting the keyframes for position and orentation in the middle is no problem, but getting the object to hold for a second is what I'm having trouble with.

I realize that I could just make new keyframes at the end of the hold time, with the same values as the keyframes at the start of the hold time, but it would be so much easier to just copy/paste those keyframes, like you can do in most NLEs. Is there a way to do that?

Thanks.

Well, I found the answer to my current project, that being to just add a keyframe to the end of the hold time.

But, the question still remains, is there a way to copy/paste keyframes?

Thanks again!

Hi Chaser,

AFAIK, Cool3D does not have that option..

Yes, there is. Use the Edit/Copy menu to copy and the Edit/Paste Attributes menu to paste. Paste Attributes will bring up a dialog letting you choose which keyframe attributes (Position, Bevel, Etc...) that you wish to copy.

Hope that helps.

I thought at first perhaps you were mistaken, because there is no option for orientation in that dialog box that comes up, however, I see that just choosing Position takes care of Position, Orientation, and Scale all at once. Beautiful, just beautiful. I'm really going to love having this program in my toolbox of video goodies!

Thank you!!

Does this work for Cool 3D 3.5?

I don't see how to add an additional keyframe at the end of the sequence to paste the attributes onto.

To add a new keyframe turn on the Animation Toolbar, move the slider to where you want a new keyframe then click the + button. If you have to extend the project with more frames use Project/Modify Frames/Pad Frames.
