Fine adjustment of transition time

Post by Bomoh »

Is it possible to easily set the transition time exactly rather than having to drag the film clips bak and forth?

EG............. I want a simple cross fade between 2 clips of about 20 frames but when I drag I get 1 sec and 19 frames, then 8 frames and so on. Can I fine tune it or set it exactly?

One way of doing this is to open the Transition Options box and add key frames either close to the start and/or the end of the transition and adjust their transition degree to 0 or 100 respectively. Another way would be to put the two clips on the storyboard, select both and Add to timeline. A dialogue comes up which allows you to adjust the overlap down to single frame level. This can be done in a sub-timeline, if you prefer.

Better yet;

select the transition on the timeline, then from the context menu select "Duration" and set it in the spinbox. This can be done with frame accuracy.

Poof.
