I have been unable to use some AVI files when making DVDs. The message reads "VIDS:DIVX Compressor not found"
I get a blank screen. I can "play" the clip, but get only sound.
I uploaded the last patch, but that didn't affect anything.
Historically I have always had problems with AVI files, until I got my new computer I could not even view them.

DIVX is one type of AVI file. AVI is just a wrapper. Others would be DV-AVI, Xvid. AFAIK MF is not able to handle DIVx files. I wouldn't want to try to edit them anyway. It is a compressed format, like MPEG4, both are lossy formats.
In order to burn or open DivX, you need the DivX codec. You can get it here: http://www.divx.com/..
