inserting video file

Hello everyone, I have media pro 6.5, and I am trying to insert a video file from a dvd I had created earlier. I load the disc and then open and copy into my hard drive, but I cannot insert into my timeline because its not a good format.

The dvd was created in the media pro and burned as a dvd in the movie factory. The file appears with the ATI icon which is my video card (7500 radeon all in wonder) Is there anyway I can use or convert this file so I can use in my current project

Use DVD Decrypter to rip and convert to mpeg format. Doesn't matter what the icon is that's irrelevant. Import into Media Studio Pro.

this doesn't always work (has problems with larger videos, and when there's dolby digital audio), but if your video is using mpeg/lpcm audio, and doesn't span multiple .vob's, you could try renaming it to *.mpg and inserting that to your msp timeline).

if that doesn't work, then as mentioned you would have to use a tool to import from dvd (the latest dvd moviefactory can import from dvd).
