Another Smart Compositor File

Post by Downstairs Video »

Hi,

After the offer from Steve, I have been trying out the smart compositor feature.

I have uploaded One (not 6 like Steve) to see if this works for other people.

If it works for others, I will upload some more in time.

I have used the photos/video/music that came with MSP8

However, the smallest I could get the file is 17.6mg

Please try it and give feed back.

http://www.dsvid.com/SmartCompositor/Dynamics.exe

Remeber, to install do not have MSP8 running.
In Smart Compositir there will be a folder Downstairs Video.
In it will be Dynamics

It installed and worked first time.
Very good composition, I look forward to viewing a few more of your creations. Well done.

As I said a coupla times before, the file sizes become horrendously big and therefore cannot be sent by e-mail :(

PS 17.6 mg is actually very light, about 1/60 of a gram :D

Its especially horrendous considering the fact that the files that SCD packages together aren't even being used by Smart Compositor.

If you want to keep the files sizes small (I demonstrated how in my simpler samples) do not include any pictures or video.
The end user will be replacing any pictures or video with their own.
Instead use solid colour blocks - they are simply place-holders. You can then add all the effects you wish such as overlays, transitions, moving paths, filters etc. This will keep the file sizes small.

If you want the end user to replace those colour blocks with certain "built in" sample videos just include them as a note in your posting.

Come on Guys and Gals, these are very rewarding and satisfying little projects we can knock up and share!

Thanks, Chris, this one worked perfectly for me. Still can't figure out why Steve's didn't work for me, though.

Thanks again. I'm looking forward to more from you.

Hmmmmm. What's wrong here??

I downloaded and ran the file, but.....couldn't find it. I downloaded Steve's and it showed right up. Am I doing something wrong here? MSP 8 was NOT running when I installed it. Don't know where it went???

Don,
After you rebooted the computer, all you needed to do is run MSP8, then click on "Insert" then Smart Composer. Scroll down to Downstairs Video and click on the only one in it.

Whoops, sorry, Don. Wrong program. You do not need to reboot after installing one of the Smart Composer files posted here.

Okay, Steve, this is really weird. I downloaded and installed the Smart Composer Creator file this afertnoon, and now the 6 files you created and posted here are working perfectly for me.

Now, I'll let you try out one I made:
http://members.cox.net/mathisbrogers2/2 ... Moving.exe

It will be under "MBR Productions" when you install it. I created it by inserting actual clips and pictures, to test it, but when I liked it, I right clicked on the clips and pictures and replaced them with color clips so that the file size will be smaller. It's 716KB. I used a supplied sound clip, though, and I also used Steve's Moving PIPs, Restore R. If you haven't downloaded them get them here: http://www.steve-jones.pwp.blueyonder.c ... ngPIPs.zip

Again, be sure you're not running MSP8 when you install anything.

Now, for another question. You can delete a composed smart composer template by right clicking on it and click delete. Any idea how to delete the drop down list? I accidently mis-spelled one when I created it under Smart Composer Creator, and now it's not something I'm going to use, but it didn't give me an option to delete it when I right clicked on it.

Thanks, and please let me know if this one works for everyone.

20275.1.1 file does not exist is what I get after I install it BUT the Downstairs video and Dynamics theme templates are there.

I just tried Steve Jones and MBR and they work fine.

Any ideas???

Chris, Ive taken a look through your composition. I think you will reduce the file size dramaticaly by changing just one item. Media Clip 9

Either replace it with a solid colour block, or if you want to preserve the
"Completed look." convert the video you have used to an MPG.

I've installed both now, MSP wasn't running when I installed, started up MSP8, clicked on "insert", then Smart Compositor....and the both are NOT there. Steve's I got in there, and if I remember I think I just unzipped them into my C drive to get them installed and working. But the other two just gave me the option to "Run" to install them, and they both do NOT show up. Any ideas?? They seem to have gone missing somewhere!

OK, could use some help here now!

I installed Steve Jone's files a while ago, by extracting the zip files into my C drive. SC found the files and it worked fine. So now I have downloaded Downstairs Video and Mathis files, both of which only offered the option of "run", and neither of them show up in SC. Now to really make matters interesting, the Steve Jones SC templates don't work anymore! When I try to open one, it freezes up and eventually crashes MSP8. Something's mucked up. Anyone have any ideas here?

Hi, Don,
Sorry that you're having troubles. See if you can open up Downstairs Video and Mathis and delete them from the list -- that I know of, you cannot delete the drop down menu. Get out of SC and MSP8. Open MSP8 again and then see if Steve's works for you.
