I paid for VideoStudio 8 and I have been attempting to get a download link for VideoStudio 8 for over a month with NO RESULTS (I lost my disc with the original download)
What gives?
I Need To Re-Download

I dunno... Can you still download VS8?
If you live in the U.S., and if you haven't lost your serial number, send me a private message with your postal address and I'll mail you a copy of the CD. (It won't work without a serial number.)
Actually, I'm not sure if your download S/N will work with the retail CD, but it's worth a try...
Or, maybe someone with fast internet can email it to you. (I'm on dial-up.)

I realise this response isn't much help and I don't intend to deliberately sound unsympathetic, but you do ask "what gives"...
I think from memory an extra $10 (at the time of purchase of your download copy) ensured that you received either a permanent link for downloads or was that a CD copy? I can't remember exactly which - but one or the other was available. But whatever, at the time you purchased your VS8 (upgrade or full) you would have been offered a mechanism (for the $10) to insure against what has happened i.e. your loss of your downloaded copy.
Not much anybody can do for you - short of (illegally) sending you a copy of their CD. I believe in this case ULead has no obligation at all towards you as the option to guard against this very eventuality was there at the time of purchase - and you didn't take it (presumably).
Unfortunate, but that's the rough side of life. On the plus side, the upgrade price for VS is only $50 USD - in case you don't have a previous version it isn't too hard to get one. I see a copy of VS6 show up on a regular basis here in Australia in the cover disc of one of the local computer magazines - you would probably see something similar. I received my first copy of VS (VS5) as part of a firewire kit that I bought for my computer ($20 for the board and it included VS5 SE). Perhaps if you look around you, you might find either in your own "archives" or a friend, a copy of VS that you can upgrade from.
Goodluck,
Peter
