Please help.
Ive started a new project in Video Editor but it doesnt clear the video files links stored in Production Library which i used in my previous project.
I can erase the file links but then when i load up my old project it keeps the new ones in the Production Library.
Is there a way when I save and then load a project that it only puts the files for that project in the Production Library?
Hope someone can help or that this even makes sense to any one.
Thank you!!
New project doesnt clear the Production Library

Keith,
when you are capturing your clips it is putting them straight into the main video library. What you need to do is:
- Before trying to capture any video, go into the Library Manager and create a new video library. Give it a name that is associated with your new project.
- Then open the new video library folder. It should be empty.
- Then click on the capture tab and do your normal video capturing.
- The new clips will now be stored safely in your new project library, and not in the main library.
- Repeat every time you start a new project.
However, you need to remember that if you do not keep on top of your file husbandry then you could end up with a lot of Mb of video files on your hard disk. After I finish a project I turn it into a video file and normally delete the clips from the library. Once I have a DVD's worth of video files I will compile them into a DVD volume, but get VS8 to produce an ISO file so I can reproduce the DVD in the future if I need more copies. I then delete the video files themselves. Eventually I intend to get a system of removeable hard disks on which to keep all of my clips and video files, but until that time I just have to make do with what I have!
There is no way (that I have found yet) to transfer already captured video into a library sub-folder, and besides if you did manage to move the clips then the links to your project in the timeline would all break anyway.

Daz,
What ive been doing is capturing mpeg1 files with my Dazzle 150 and then importing them into the Video folder of the Media Library.
Ive just worked out how to create a new folder in the Video folder by right clicking (doh!).
Ive been used to Premiere 5 & Edit Studio which opens up the relevant files for each project.
Cheers for helping.
