Compression Problems
Hi there, I have saved my project and am ready to compress it for the web. I have found my options -ie saving it as an mpg or quicktime file, but when I attempt to save as these file types the compression doesnt seem to work. I have looked at the compression options and they seem to be rather ineffective. I have a 2 minute clip that I want compressed into about an 6-8meg file, but the smallest compression I get is 23megs for an mpeg file and about 70megs for the quicktime format. Can you please tell me how to effectively compress my projects when I am saving them as an mpg or QT format? Thanks!

WMA, Divx and Quicktime are the most common formats used for web compression. Personally, I prefer Quicktime. Using Quicktime Pro, one can use its built in encoder to export using variety of codecs. Example: 435 MB 720x480 DV Type 2 AVI 29.976fps PCM 16Bit 48KHz 192 kb/s Stereo Audio-using QT PRO compressed this file-Medium Quality 320x240 MPEG-4 29.976fps 8Bit 8KHz Mono=5.45 MB.
