I need to capture dv with the original timecode of when it was recorded directly from the dv stream. and just can't figure out how to get this working.
When i capture in dv avi format, the original timecode is displayed in the bottom left hand corner of the screen, so i know the software can read it. However when i play back the capture the timecode just seems to reset to being 00:00 at the start of the clip, and any subsequent programs i try which read encoded timestamps, ie Visual DV Timestamp, just comes up with the error "no time/date stamp encoded on this data". What am i doing wrong?

Re: Capturing timecode problems
If I'm thinking what you're thinking, then you should turn 'Smart Rendering' on. In this way UMSP will not re-render unchanged video sequences (you can change audio as you like - it won't damage the timecode).Jo wrote:I need to capture dv with the original timecode of when it was recorded directly from the dv stream. and just can't figure out how to get this working.
