Hi Salama and welcome to the boards, :)

What version of PI are you using? I only recently aquired PI_11 and am not familiar with earlier versions. However in PI_11 look at the toolbar located along the left side. The 3rd tool down from the top, is the Path Drawing Tool. That is what you use to draw squares, circles, ellipses, etc. If you hover you're mouse over each one, a tool tip will appear telling you what it is.

Also I would highley recommend downloading a watching the video tutorials if you haven't already done so. If you have, then watch them again. I've viewed them at least 3 times in the last 2 weeks, and learn something new each time. You can find them here:

After playing around I found out that you have to be in web mode for the Path Drawing Tool to show up in the toolbox and that mode is not the default one after an install and I couldn't find a way to get this tool to show up in all the other modes.

I am not finding this product very intuitive. why does this tool show up in web mode only? I should be able to draw shapes in any mode.

Select the "Advanced' workspace in PI 11. All tools should show up. You can also create your own workspace, showing all tools you want and hiding the ones you don't need.
