VideoStudio 7 Basic Edition

Post by Marty »

I obtained this software with the purchase of a firewire card which I installed. I have captured a short film from my DV camera, edited, titled and rendered (NTSC VCD), but the create (burn) to cd is not highlighted in the software. I don't think I did anything wrong...did I????

Please help!!!!

You may not be able to burn with the basic edition. You might have to upgrade or use other authoring software.
Now using Adobe Premiere and Photoshop

VS 7 - burn DVD

Post by benniegibson »

I can confirm - I asked Ulead yesterday and they indicate the basic version ov VS7 does not support burning a DVD. Interestingly, if you read the box (for my card any way) carefully, you will notice DVD missing from the listed formats. HOWEVER, the box says "Ulead VideoStudio DVD Software & Driver Included" - a quick reader would certainly have reason to believe they should be able to burn a DVD.

You can still produce a DVD-compliant mpeg-2 with the Basic software. But as Guy said, you will then have to use a third-party program (e.g. Nero) to burn it to DVD.
