Every 5th frame drops out

Post by Thespian »

I have tried to edit HDTV files using VS9 without success. VS9 just will not open files and causes VS9 to lock up. The files are PAL 50fps AC3. I was advised to use Video Re Do to convert the files and import into VS9. I did this but the AC3 converts to 2 channel stereo. VS9 was able to open the converted files but when rendered, every 5th frame was missing and the previous frame was repeated in its place. Anyone else seen this phenomena or got a fix for it?

Ulead products will not open HDTV files with .tp file extension. You should try Womble MPEG VCR program to convert your files.

Hi Ty,
Tried Womble MPEG VCR but it just just locked up. The HDTV files don't have a .tp file extension, they have a .mpg extension. They are 50fps AC3 audio files. Thanks for trying, I'll keep looking for something to open them

:? I have no idea if this will help...

There is an sometimes an issue with broadcast digital being an MPEG Transport Stream whereas regular MPEG files are Program Streams.

A couple of free programs that are supposed to fix this TS/PS problem are PVAStrumento and Project X. Project X is a little tricky to download & set-up. You have to download the Java Runtime Engine... Or make a donation to get the exe version, or try to find the exe version somewhere else, or you can try to compile it yourself if you're a programmer.
