lost pictures! Pleeeease help - Video studio SE 8

Post by handco »

Can anyone please help? I have inadvertently deleted some video clips from my SD memory card when using Video studio editor for the first time !!
They are of my Grandsons first skiing holiday so I really would like to get them back but don't know how to.I had the bamera linked via USB cable to the PC.
I am using Windows XP and have searched the hard drive and the recycle bin. I know the numbers of the files I am searching for (in ASF format). The first frame (or thumbnail) of the images are still showing on the right hand side of the studio editor but if I right click I get a message headed 'Relink' and then telling me the files don't exist.
I am desperate to get these back so any help would be gratefully received. Maybe Windows saves them somewhere ?
Thank you

You should search the internet for a file recover utility, such as this one:

If the first one didn't work try another.

If three or four of the recover programs don't work than most likley you have lost your files.

Hi i have succesfully used a program called restore which is freeware that i can send as i cant remember where i got it. The only problem was that it would not restore files from the card in the camera, the card has to be in a card reader. It is some thing about seeing the camera as a device and the card reader being seen as a drive if you want me to send you it send your email in a PM

Brian

Edit: It obviosly can also recover deleted files from the comp hard drive but if you are recovering from the hard drive put the program on a floppy or usb flash drive
