Hello, Can anyone tell me how and which files I need to put from my old computer to my new computer in order to continue my project in VS9?
I have installed VS9 on my new computer and managed to re-link some files but still some sound tracks are missing.
Then after having the files in my new computer in VS9 I save as a new project and all seems fine until I open the project again and then VS9 says it doesn’t recognize the files. But before I saved the project it worked fine.
Cheers
Glenn Waters

If you are moving an old video file in vsp to another computer you will be losing "links" to that file.
Example.....I add an "XYZ" song (located in my c: drive under "My Music") to my project. Now if I delete "XYZ" from my pc, when I open my VS project again it will not be able to "link" to that song because it no longer exists.
What ever files were in your project from the old pc will need to be copied to your new pc in order for VS to properly link it back to your original project.

If you still have your old computer, the quickest way to get the files to the new one is to remove the hard drive from your old computer, place it as a secondary drive in the new computer. (don't forget to check the master/slave jumper). You can then either keep that hard drive in place and simply re-link when prompted.
Or...
You can copy the files from that hard drive to the new hard drive. If you keep the same directory structure, so that a file that was on the old computer at c:\this directory\this sub directory\this filename.xxx
is placed in exactly the same spot on the new hard drive, you shouldn't get a re-linking problem.

Hello Steve J, thank you. Looks like I will have to finish the project in my old computer as I need the hard drive and
Also the directory is different.
In the old computer I had VS9 on D drive and later changed it to an external drive then I read that it works best on C drive so I re-installed again. So I have files all over the place. A real mess. I won’t make that mistake with the new computer.
Thanks again
