VideoStudio 8 - Editing Long Movie Into Scenes, etc.

Hello,

I'm currently shopping for video editing software. Specifically, I have some old home movies that I've recently moved from VHS to DVD. The problem is that the DVD is a single "scene" and I'd like to break it up like what I see when I rent a DVD. I'd like to have a main menu where I can have a title, as well as a "Play Movie" and "Scenes" option. I'd like to break the big movie up into smaller scenes. Also, there are some things that I'd like to cut out.

Will I have this functionality with VideoStudio 8, or would I be better off buying something else? Any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated.

If you already have the video captured on DVDs and want to edit them, I would get DVD MovieFactory or DVD Workshop Express instead of Videostudio. Both of these have better DVD menu creation tools than Videostudio, although all three will let you break up and edit your videos.

Thanks for the information. I guess I'll download a few of these and see which one works best.
