HELP!!! burning errors

Post by laurae »

arghhhhhhhhh - if anyone can help I'd be sooo grateful.
I've done a dvd project which isn't that big so the problem isn't that my discs aren't big enough. I've gone through all the satges of making the dvd, creating the menus etc and then my problems start with the burning. It gets so far - around 36% of converting titles and then continually has an error - convert step error. It happens everytime I try and I can't resolve it.

PLEASE HELP!!!
Thanks in advance

Convert error

Post by mhaine »

I had the same error. I upgraded the version and now I get an application warning thus, "Faulting application dvdmf.exe, version 3.0.1.0, faulting module mpgvout.004, version 1.1.9.44, fault address 0x00044bbc."

Now, XP sends a Microsoft error report.

Still have not been able to create a DVD image.

Convert error

Just found this further down... Thanks MD - I'll give it a try...

I've found it best to convert the files to Mpeg2 before going on to the
menu / burning screens etc. This way I'm working with dvd compliant files and
they don't need to be re-rendered. Also if there's a problem converting
a file it will show up during conversion. You will also find out what file is
giving you a problem.
On the timeline screen click on the 3rd icon down on the left to
Export the video.
I usually either use a preset template I've created or the "Custom"
feature and manually set the mpeg2 file parameters.
You can highlight all the clips on the timeline and MF will export
all of them or one at a time.
After they are in mpeg2 compliancy then I save that project.
Start a new one and import the compliant files, create chapters, menus & burn.

Hope this helps,

MD

burning errors

Post by laurae »

I resolved the problem - I wayched while it started to burn to see which file it kept having a problem with. I then deleted this )it happened to be a slideshow) and did it again. It then worked fine - this would have been more of a problem though had the slideshow had been large with a lot of editing etc that would take a while to have to redo.

I've had so many problems with this software!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
