HI All,
I recently recorded a movie and wanted to use Ulead to edit and burn it to DVD. Ulead wont play any sound though in that file. The sound is in AC3. Windows media player and other players play the same file with sound but Ulead wont.
Is there some setting that needs changing?
Any help much appreciated. I just want to burn the movie to DVD with the sound that it was recorded with.
Ulead wont play any sound when editing video file

Hi Feff,
When you say Ulead what program are you using, Video Studio, Medio Studio Pro, DVD Movie Factory, CD/DVD Slideshow Maker, Photo Impact?
Then what version of the program are you using?
Now that's still not enough information, we need to know how you captured the video to your computer, what format (capture properties), then your Project Properties once it is captured, your workflow, the Properties you are using when you are trying to create a video file, and then your steps to burning to disc.

Hi Vidoman,
Thanks for your fast reply. I will try to update details as soon as I can. But meantime, this info may be enough.
I am using Videostudio 9se.
I recorded a movie using a tv card (winfast dtv1000).
For some unknown reason, the movies audio was recorded in Ac3 filtre- ie in windows media player, properties of the file under Audio Codec- it says AC3 filtre. Everything else I record is MPEG Audio Decoder.
The thing is, every type of media player i tyr still plays the file with sound- but when i insert video file in ulead and just press play, ulead wont play any sound. Therefore it wont burn the audio to disc. I now have a silent version of Top Gun.
Hope this is a little clearer?
Thanks again.

I assume that the SE version, which I assume came free with some hardware, does not support AC3.
The free trial version of Video Studio 9 doesn't have AC3 either... Apparenty, Dolby want's their money up front!

If you live in Europe this is OK, but if you live in North America, the NTSC DVD standard does not inlcude MPEG audio. If you're making an NTSC DVD, you need to use AC3 or LPCM audio... Some NTSC players can play MPEG, but it's not required by the standard.Everything else I record is MPEG Audio Decoder.
