VideoStudio 7 hangs

Hi,
I use VideoStudio 7 on Windows XP. It worked well for a while but now it hangs from time to time (Patch 7.0x installed). The hang occurs sporadically and is not bound to any specific action.
I guess VideoStudio changed something in my configuration I do not know (overwrite of DLLs ? drivers ? or such like). Why did it need a reboot after installation ?
I did no other changes after installing VideoStudio (the installation of cloneDVD was withdraw and I switched back to the configuration before CloneDVD was installed with windows recovery). Then I installed VideoStudio (and the patch) once more.
The installation of Cool3D SE should also cause no such problems. But I also uninstalled that, too.
Have anyone an idea what happened ?
