I am thinking of switching to record on my DV camera in 16:9 (its true 16:9 anamorphic), edit everything in 16:9 using MSP, and create a 16:9 DVD. However, I want to also produce a 4:3 version that is letterboxed (or perhaps pan and scanned) and I wondered if anyone has any experience of doing this please?
I suspect I need to buy some additional software to create a letterboxed 16:9 for 4:3 TVs and cant do it in MSP. Am I correct?
Thanks!
How to create a letterboxed 4:3 output from a 16:9 source

Set up a 4:3 project with non-square pixel rendering turned on. Now 16:9 content in a 4:3 project will be automatically letterboxed.
Do this in a 16:9 project and 4:3 content will be automatically pillared.
If it doesn't in either case then set the files Media Source Options stretch mode to "Keep aspect ratio".
