If I add 5 audio files to the audio timeline with the 5.1 preset. (Audio files are from MSP 8 production library) And I go into the mixing panel and go to layout and select track I cannot control tracks 4,5,6,7 independently. When I go to audio track 4 and move the pan button, tracks 4,5,6,7 all move together.
I went to group tree setting and I cannot add more than 4 groups. Under group 4 there are sub groups named Track A4, A5, A6, A7. I tried to ungroup them and pressed OK but they still are locked together.
If I go to layout and group the mixing panel it then shows 4 ID's that can be independently set. Am I doing something wrong? This is not for any project just experimental.

5.1 Grouping Problem?
This is a known problem with MSP8 and, hopefully, may be resolved when SP1 comes out. The beta testers complained about this long before release

If Ulead knew this was a problem why did they release MSP 8? If you look at one of their reasons to upgrade to MSP 8 is because of 5.1 audio creation. Is this false advertising on Ulead's part? If my cable company told me if I pay so much a month and will receive 100 channels and I only get 80 I would be complaining along with many other people. This is what Ulead has done promise something and then not deliver.
Do not get me wrong I have been loyal to Ulead and will continue. But a service patch should be put out as soon as possible. Or at least acknowledge the problem with a fix coming.

**rant mode on**
Don't think that wasn't brought up, to the point of exhaustion, but you know how the bean counters can be with their schedules
Ulead isn't alone in doing this. The PPro betas screamed to high heaven over some of the things left undone in 1.0 before it was released. They eventually fixed most of PPro's worst problems, but the "patch" was called PPro 1.5 and cost about $199 USD for the "upgrade".
At least Uleads fixes are free, even though it doesn't make this kind of thing "right" no matter who does it. Sony and most of all Microsoft are also "guilty" of this kind of nonsense.

That said the audio mixing problem, among others, are high on the betas "hit-list" for SP1 and believe me we've been bugging Ulead mercilessly about getting that beta started ASAP.

Thanks for the follow-up to that question
Thanks for the follow-up to that question.
I was a bit concerned that I might have missed something there myself for a second.
So far, the software’s capabilities are great when it functions properly. I have found three glitches so far since I've been trying to use the software in earnest:
1. The surround track grouping problem.
2. Inability to properly center scrolling text on a 16:9 screen.
3. The failure of Movie Factory 4 to successfully convert an AVI file prior to DVD burn.
