Would XP Pro help the situation?

Post by enigmacode »

Hello 8)

I'm new here - but not new to Ulead

I really liked Studio 8, and currently I'm trying the trial version of Media Studio Pro 8

I was wondering if Windows XP Pro would provide better stability, and reliability for an OS? Currently I have XP Home Edtion - I have a Dell Dimension 8400 with a virgin install of the Dell Restoration CD (stripped of all the Dell Junk). But nevertheless, my OS is still from the Dell Restore CD. I've been told that XP Pro is a plus ....

My specs are: P4 3.5 Gig, 2 External 120 Gig HD's, 3 Gigs of RAM. Gforce 6600 PCI Video Card. Sound Blaster Live Audio Card.

I was having problems with Pinnacle Studio 8 & 9 , and tought that Magix Edit Pro was good. But had some glitchy transition problems with it as well.

I consider myself an above average video editor, having experience with several types of software. I've always like Ulead for smooth transitions, and glitch-free Video.

Thanx for your opinions
Mike

I doubt whether it would, as their cores are basically identical.

The only major difference between Pro and Home Edition is with Pro you are able to create and manage user groups.

You can then set various read, write options to individuals or groups of users.

There are a few other cosmetic differences but essentialy the operating system is the same in both versions.
