I have been using multi trim in DVD Factory 3 successfully but when I try in Video Studio 8 it doesn't work. Having marked in and marked out from the beginning of a file in retain mode a trimmed clip is created. If I then mark in where the clip is paused, ie: the first clip mark out point; and then mark out a little further into the clip also in retain mode, the trimmed clip created defaults to a mark in point from the very beginning of the file. So no new trimmed clip is created, just an extension to the original clip. I have uninstalled and re installed the software which doesn't help. I am running Video Studio 8 with no other software running. I am running WXP pro with all the latest updates including SP2 and my system is Pentium 4 CPU 2.53Ghz, 1 GB RAM in an Asus P4PE.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Jon
Multi trim doesn't work

This may not respond to your problem, but I believe multi-trim clip must be "OK'd" and closed before you can go back and do any further trimming at a place you have already trimmed.
You'll see in the Storyboard that your original clip is now two or more clips. Each of those can be worked on with the multi-trim clip tool.
Or you can undo and try again from the beginning.

multi-trim
Jon,
I tried to do the same thing in UVS8. You don't seem to be able to do it that way. You need to first cut the clip in the preview pane which will give you two clips and then work on each of those clips separately in the multi-trim dialogue box.
