Nothing in the preview screen, help!

Gentlemen,

I just got my 3d production studio. When I insert text using the "T" icon, I get nothing in my preview/work screen. I tried to put geometric objects, video and the same nothing result.
However, whenever I drag something in the preview/work screen, I noticed some blue progress bars moving in the bottom of the computer screen.

When I change the background of the work screen to other colors, the screen changes accordingly. Unfortunately, I don't see the text that I tried to insert. Am i missing a switch to turn things on?

This sounds like a graphics card, driver or directx issue. Some information about your computer system might help. Type of graphics card, operating system, directx version, etc.

Do any of the pre-configured 3D images show on your compter? Specifically, in the EasyPalette dialog box, drag and drop a Composition->Movie or Object->Text Object.

If that works, then you are probably starting off with something wrong. If they don't work then there is a video problem on your system.

Thank you for your fast replies.

I have a windows 2000 operating system and a $20 graphics card I got from compusa. That may be the problem.

I'll check it out.
