Title Animation in VS9

Post by gordonwd »

After using VS8 for a while, I just tried my first VS9 project last night. Am I missing something about customizing title animations? I wanted to do a cross-fade on a title, which was easy to do in VS8, but in VS9 after selecting "Fade" on the Animation tab I seemed to only have the choice of 6 or 7 types of pre-set fades, none of which were a cross-fade.

In VS8 it seemed like these effects were more highly customizable, being able to control the fade-in/out times, etc. Am I missing something here? And besides, I think that the cross-fade should certainly be a standard animation since it is so widely used everywhere and is much more of a "professional" animation that the other rather gimmicky effects that they have.

Hi

There are more options.

Select Fade as the ‘Type’ then click the two ‘TT’s symbol.

You can now select X-Fade.

Also, with your title highlighted in the preview screen, altering the trim bar will alter the fade duration.

Thanks! I guess I was in a hurry, and to my mind "TT" means "TrueType", so I must have thought it had something to do with the fonts.
