This is music you've added yourself, not a ready-made PS4 theme, right? When you're in step 2 of the program ("Theme") click on the "Slideshow" tab and then the "Audio & Effect." button. When the slideshow editor opens, look at the blue line (the audio track) near the bottom of the UI directly under your thumbnails and drag the slider bar all the way to the right. Does the blue music line end with your last slide of does it continue past it?

Hi,

Sorry... I'm only familiar with PS4 but I'm sending you a PM with a few suggestions.

What were the results of this question? Did your problem get solved? How? I have similar issues.

Could you please post the specifics of your issue(s) and which version of PictureShow you're using?

Thanks :-)

CD & DVD PictureShow 4: Poor Image Quality

Post by jbrennan »

I'm just trying to create a simple slideshow with adequate image quality (.jpg) and multiple audio tracks (.mp3). I'd prefer it on a CD, but a DVD, if the image quality is acceptable, would work too.
I started in ULead Photo Explorer 8.5. It's slideshow feature and output is just about perfect. It just can't handle audio very well. The issue I have with PE 8.5 is that it previews perfectly: song 1 starts when it should, song two starts at the end of song one, song three starts at the end of song two. When I burn to a CD and something is off. Song one finishes and begins to repeat itself until song two is supposed to start. Then song two plays then begins again/repeats until song three is supposed to start. When I say "supposed to start", I mean the point in the sequence of images that I dragged the song to.

Aggrivated I moved on to CD & DVD PictureShow 3, which I quickly learned had to be upgraded to CD & DVD PictureShow 4 in order to use three disinct audio files. I paid the upgrade and put together a show that previewed well. I then burned to CD (VCD). The .jpgs are 2.3MB, but the images in the slide show on the CD were tiny. When I took Windows Media Player up to full screen, it looked like I had run the .jpgs through a garbage disposal.
I've learned that CD & DVD PictureShow does a poor job of image conversion/resampling from this forum.
What other information would you like?

I want a slide show program that:
1. Allows my .jpgs to be used, or does not degrade the .jpgs to the point that they are nearly unrecogniseable.
2. Allows me to have transitions & titles
3. Allows me to have multiple audio tracks.
4. Burns to CDs in an auto-play (on a PC) format.

Photo Explorer 8.5 is the closest, but it's not there.

Thanks for your interest. I look forward to your answer.

Hi,

If your (NTSC) VCD slide show includes transitions, the resolution will be 352X240 which definitely would leave something to be desired when viewed at full screen. If you can live without transitions, PS4 should default to 704X480 which would be a substantial improvement.

Just FYI, if you want to give SVCD a try, the resolution should be 480X480 (with or without transitions) and of course DVD is 720X480.

Hope that helps!

jbrennan - You can do all of what you want with PictureShow.
There are a few things to be aware of, version 4 does a much better job of managing audio/slide transition syncronization so you don't get the restart of the song issue. It is possible to get version 3 to behave with a bit of trial and error but it is tedious to get it all to sync. I have created CDs with autorun.inf to launch the .MPG version of the slideshow. to get the .MPG from version 3, if I recall, there is an option to save temp files which includes the .MPG used to create the VOBs. In version 4 goto Theme and on the Slideshow panel at the bottom there is a "Save Slideshow as Video File" button which lets you control the image quality.

Most of this is not automatic but it is do-able!
