I'm inserting audio tracks (MP3 music files) into a project (converted family movies). I cannot figure out how to set the insert point in the middle of the project - they are always appended to the end of the last audio track. I looked in the manual (no help there), and searched this forum, but did not find an answer. I'm sure I'm missing something pretty basic. Thanks

Hi Pete,
Have you tried this:
In timeline mode, click on the audio icon or the audio tab to make sure your in the correct mode. Then where you want to insert the audio, click on the timeline ( where the numbers are). This should position your cursor at that place on the timeline. Then click on the folder icon and select import audio. That should import the audio track to your cursor position.
Also do have ripple editing enabled for the audio track? If so and you have an audio track after where you are trying to insert the new one, VS9 may not allow it.
Regards

The result is the same whether ripple editing is set or not. I do have audio tracks after the point where I want to insert, and the track I add is always placed at the end. I am not importing from a CD. I am using the Insert Audio option from the right click menu to insert an MP3 track that is already on my hard disk.

Pete,
Just played with this and yes VS9 will only add the audio to the end. However as usual where there's a will, there's a way...
Import the audio clip into the library. Then drag the clip onto the timeline where you want to place it. It will then allow placing the audio clip between others..
