Capturing all the way to burning process?

Post by caddiguy »

I was reading the correct format I should capture video from my Sony Hi 8 last week here on the forum and now for some reason I can't find it. Could someone point me to a string or explain it again?

I am using Video suite 7 SE. I was reading something about capture in AVI. then dont burn to DVD using share function. Instead take footage and make into MPEG2 format then burn to DVD?

Sorry if I am not making sense. This is prestty new territory for me and I want to back up all my 8MM Hi8 tapes to DVD and in good resolution.

Also, when I get to the point of redoing my VHS tapes the same way, will I use the same method of capture to burn process?

Thanks, as usual if it were a snake it would have bit me.

Does Vs Suite7 SE work the same as suite8 under these guidlines?

Actually, we are up to version 9 and although some of the terminology has changed from version to version, the basic premise is the same. Do not do a render and burn straight from the timeline. (In a nutshell) Render your project first into a DVD compliant mpeg, start a new project, insert that newly created mpeg, then burn your project.
