Problem Creating Video File (Not rendered)

I've used Video Studio 7 successfully for years and upgraded to VS8 last year. I edited a bunch of video (1 hour 55 minutes total) and I'm trying to create an mpeg2 video file I can burn to DVD. For some reason though, the process is interrupted before it's finished and I get an error message which says the video was not rendered. I never had this problem before.

I running a Dell 9100 with a P4, Windows XP, 1GB Ram, 160GB Internal Hard Drive with a 300GB external hard drive. The project and files are all kept on my external hard drive. The Video Studio software is on my internal C Drive.

Any ideas why my file isn't being created? I'm a pretty experienced Video Studio user so I'm baffled. Does one of the patches address this issue?

Please help!
