Hello,
Making videos on video studio 8, the projet and the video is good when played on the pc. As I burn it ans read it on a home dvd player, the sound is delayed from the video after around 30 minutes... is it a referenced bug of VS 8 ?
Thanks for any help

OK What I found after a search on the forum is that it is a common bug, not really correct, it seems that it is corrected by downdraded the soft.... hum....
Fortunatelly I didnt bought this product which was packaged with a usb capture box. I will find for a more "unbugged" product as it seems the version 9 still have these kind of sync problems...
no more comment....

Hi Ledjeg,
Well no it is not a bug in VS9, or in VS8 in the general sense. What I mean is that trying to edit certain formats, like MPEG2 can create the Out of Sync problems. I've used VS versions 5, 8 and now 9. I've never (and I'm probably real lucky on this ) experienced out of sync issues. The only reason I can think of is that I've always followed recommendations set out by those far more experienced then I.
You will have far less complications if you capture and do all your editing in DV-AVI format. Then once all editing is done, render to DVD-compliant MPEG2 (if you are wanting to make a DVD) or any other format (MPEG4, WMV, etc..).
Also for VS8 make sure that you have all the patches and fixes installed. I am aware that there was a problem with OOS, however the patch should fix it.
If you are having such troubles please provide us with more details about how you are capturing, to what format, your project properties, your workflow (are trying to burn to disk before creating a video file?). This will help us narrow down why you are having difficulties when we are not..
You really didn't give anyone much of a chance to respond to your request, judging by the times of your 2 posts.
Finally the version that you have that is bundled with your capture box is a crimpled version of what the program really can do. However to realize the full potential you would have to purchase the full version.
Regards & best of luck...

Did you come to your conclusion based soley on the posts you read here? If so please understand that this is forum where people come to find help for their problems with the programs. So why would all the ones that are not having difficulties post here?ledjeg wrote: Fortunatelly I didnt bought this product which was packaged with a usb capture box. hi videoman,
I agree with you... but the time I took to find some information is already too long. When I buy something I want it to work, if I have to spend plenty of hours to make it works I give it to do to a specialist.
What I want to say is that i don't understand software editors to make some products which does not work. I work in computing (I m IT manager) i would not accept some guys of my team making something that the end user of my company could not use (i would be fired anyway...). I hope you understand this kind of high requirement.
I spent too many time to make this software works, and the main goal of ulead was not to make something easy to use ? I dont find so I will look somewhere else... something more reliable.
If you agree with buying someting not working... gook luck... I hope the next car you'll buy will still working after the 30 first kilometers...
Bye and thanks again for your answer.

I don't totally disagree with your logic, Ledjeg. I have made the rounds shopping for a functional, suitable piece of software, that is also within my budget.
There are numerous other products that I would rather use, FinalCut Pro, Adobe Premier, Vegas to name a few. However I also take into account what I'm going to be using it for. I do this as a hobby, so purchasing hi-end software in my case be like spending $10K on a television that I may view 1 hour a day..
VS9 is tailored to consumers not prosumers. However again I have found that it does work better, is more intuitive then others. All video editing software has it's problems, and it is not easy to just buy a program off the shelf and have it work on a system, that may not be up to the task..
Long winded way of saying everyone has and is entitled to their own opinion...
Good luck to you...
