Smart Compositor "How To"?

Post by dearlg »

OK....Looks like MSP8 is finally stable after reinstalling MSP8, reinstalling the (latest) SCD and the 01/26 hotfix. I think I also understand that I'll now need to reinstall the MSP8 content files to get the 22 SCD templates back. Gonna do that this evening.

The only remaining BIG question at this point is....Are there any tutorials or other documentation as to how to creat ones own SCD template?

I think I understand how to get my personal video, images, titles, etc into an existing template, but not how to create my own template.

It's probably very simple. Can someone point me to a source of info, please?

The only info that I know of is the user manual that is posted on the same page that the download is on.

http://www.ulead.com/msp/free.htm

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply, Ken. I forgot to mention that I have this doco as well and have successfully created a test template, but it's real basic. I am looking, more specifically, about methods of putting in some of that flashy, moving kind of stuff. Windows (mattes?) where ones video, images, etc are placed.

I can recommend  great, VERY helpfull book:
"Getting Results with Ulead Media Studio Pro 8" by Charlie Hills.
A lot of exercises and tricks. Except Manual for UMSP8, this is only one I can find on web/bookstores. There also tutotal for SMC.

Thanks

I am currently working on a tutorial to show how to create and share smart compositions. It will be a two part tutorial. Part 1 will show how to do something simple but useful and will walk you through it step by step.

I later intend to create a Part 2 with a more complex project building upon the lessons from the first tutorial.
