Output file size estimates in MF4

Post by Tabby66 »

Ever since I upgraded to MF4, I have been having issues with MPEG file size conversion estimates. The estimates must be really off - unless the resulting file size is less than 3GB, and set using 4:3 aspect SP, I always get a "not enough disk space" error. Yes, I have unchecked the do not convert compliant MPEG box. And forget trying to use the "make it fit feature" - that's a joke.

Here's what I've tried so far:
-unistalling and re-installing
-re-installing, but not doing the service pack upgrade
-re-installing and doing the service pack upgrades.
-re-installing and doing one service pack upgrade only.

I have a WinPVR USB2 attached to my computer, but I never use the link between the two to do any recording.

This problem also occured with MF3, and they produced a patch to fix the problem. Are there plans to do one for MF4 in the future?

I did have both MF3 and MF4 on my computer at one time, but thinking that there may have been a conflict, I've removed MF3.

If this what is going to continue to happen, I'm moving on to another product.

You haven't told us anything about the file, what format it is currently in, how big it is, bit rate etc.
You haven't told us what you are doing to that file, what settings you are using to convert the file into a DVD.

We need more information concerning your workflow.
