automatic scene detection

Can UMSP8 do automatic scene detection when opening a large videofile which was captured before, just like Pinnacle Studio ?

It can do it a couple of ways -- for DV footage it can open at each timecode change (start/stop record on the camcorder).

There's also the option to scan the tape capture to recognize things like "commercial breaks" -- you can then delete the ones you don't want...

Once you have your video on the timeline, go to the top menu, Clip, split by scene.
