Can't get MF3.5 to recognize analpg video card

Post by homeplate5 »

First attempt to capture vhs tape using this s/w. Digital movies rip/burn great through different card.

I click direct to disc and it takes me to a screen that says select output disc format and drive but I can not click the OK button at the bottom (ok button is greyscale, cancel button is black). Show disc detail does not respond. I have tried multiple discs (dvd+r) and get the same result. Screen only responds to cancel button.

When I use the create video/slide show option from main menu it allows me to get to the point where I can select the video card (adaptec avc-2000) and I get an error message that says

failed to connect to driver. :adaptec avc-2000 device [13011:6:3]

I made sure the adaptec drivers are the most recent.

Can anyone help?

Try using the software that came with your capture card.

Once you have a digital video file, you can use the Ulead programs for video editing and DVD authoring, if you wish.

Quoting myself...
Analog capture is the trickiest part of this whole digital video business. And, video capture drivers don't seem to be as standardized as more common peripherals (like printers). Most capture devices will come with capture software that's written specifically for the particular hardware. (Sometimes the hardware will come with a Ulead product thrown-in too, but the capture function may not be optimized for the hardware.)
