Part of movie is cut out when burning DVD!

Post by froldao »

I'm authoring a DVD with Ulead DVD Movie Factory 4.
One of the movies I imported is a 640x480 WMV with subtitles. When I burn the DVD and play it I see that part of the subtitles cannot be read, they are cut out. This means that when converting this movie the software assumed "720x576" but did not adjust to the movie it was exporting... How can I avoid this?

I don't know if this will work.
Under "Preferences" the F6 key there is a TAB page that has
"TV safe area". The default is 10%. Try changing that to 0 or 1%.

safe area, not!

maddrummer3301, no, the safe area is only a safety indicator, it does not influence the outcome of the DVD...

you will have to scale your video to fit within the title-safe area (which can vary from tv to tv).

GeorgeW, but if my movie comes in 640x480, if I scale it, for instance in Adobe Premiere, it will be distorted, correct?
Shouldn't there be a way to fix this in Movie Factory?
