MSP8 Inserting Clips - Help - suggestions?

Post by krwzmann »

Hi all. I've edited a video that with various edits and synced up with 3 different audio sources. The video is about 30 minutes in length and upon preview, I was asked to insert 5 mins of video into the middle of the already edited video.

What I want to do is cut to the middle of the Video edit and then push everything to the right of the middle point down the timeline to make room for the additional video.

Is there a way to move all of the video to the right down the timeline without having to manually group select (hold down 'ctrl') each video and audio segment? I know I can just click on the left side of the screen to select all the clips on a timeline, but is there an 'easy' 'auto' way to select a group of clips without selecting everything?

If MSP8 can do this, this would make life so much easier!

Thanks!

You can use what Ulead calls 'multi-track ripple editing'. Check it out in the help files.

Hope that helps.

thanks for the help. This helped out for some parts but for some complex parts (multiple video clips / unchained / staggered) it jumbled things up. I'll have to look into it more when I have time in between projects. For the time being I played it safe and did it manually. Thanks again though.
