Out of sync - audio with video
I created a small movie with about 30 clips. 2 of the 30 have out of sync conditions (audio vs video). These two clips are not back to back, but spread out within the movie. I have combined clips I have taken from my movie camera with scenes I cut out (using VideoRedo) from a unencrypted commercial movie.
When I output to Mpeg2 and play it back, everything is fine. If I burn a DVD, the playback is out of sync. on those two clips.
If I split the project into two smaller pieces, the output is fine (even on the two problem clips).
Anybody have any idea's?

I tried that
I tried rejoining the mpegs in VideoRedo and got an error. The author has said it is a bug and they will fix it in a Beta release "sometime soon".
Joins from the same movie (all setting the same) should work, but they don't.

No, if you have the same problem I did, it's a bug in the UVS DVD creation phase.phd wrote:Is it due to an audio mismatch?
One or more of the files in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD folder is wonky.
I reported it to Ulead a couple of months ago. They said they are aware of it and it will (hopefully) be fixed in the next update. Since then the DST pack was released but made no mention of this problem so I haven't installed it.
Try regressing the files in the DVD folder as per instructions in the referenced post and see if it fixes your problem. Make sure to make a copy of the original folder 1st so you can go back if it doesn't.

FWIW, there is a DVD burning patch that came out after the last CD/DVD Burning Engine update and the DST patch, dated November 18, 2004:

It applies to the usual Ulead suspects (UVS, DWS etc.)

The latest DVD burning patch pre-dates the DST pack and the acknowledgement of this problem by Ulead. According to other posts in this forum, there is also apparently a problem with patches regressing files?
Here's what Ulead had to say about my audio sync problem:

Dear John,
Yes, we know the problem. The fix will be hopefully available in the next update patch.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you.

When I use "Create Disc" to create VOB files to my Hard Drive from my UVS8.01 Project, the resulting files have the audio out of sync with the video. The amount they are off appears to increase as I get further into the video.
The input MPEG files are fine and I can create MPEG files from my Project with "Create Video" and they are properly in sync as well.
When I create VOB files with Disc Creator from either my Project or from these MPEGs, the audio is out of sync with the video.
I have uninstalled, cleaned up, and reinstalled UVS8 and the 8.01 patch but the problem remains.
I found a work-around on the Ulead Web Board that corrects the problem. It had me replace all the files in:
C:\ProgramFiles\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD
with pre-UVS8.01 versions. When I did that, my VOBs are now in sync.
This means that one of the files in that folder is causing the problem when creating VOB files. It is not in the rendering phase since my files have already been rendered correctly, it is in either the "video/audio multiplexing" or the "finalizing the VOB files" stage of "Create Disc".
Can you please confirm that this is a known problem and tell me when I can expect a proper fix?

Same problem with VCD
I have what I think is the same problem, but with a VCD (I don't have a DVD burner). It seems to come after the first scene transition in a clip, as if the transition introduces a pause in the video, but not the audio. Since the fix I have seen has to do with the DVD folder, I am skeptical about it working. Any ideas?
