clip

I compiled a bunch of Mini DVD's onto a DVD+R DL for my boss. I used DVD Workshop to make menus so he can easily browse from clip to clip (home videos).

Being the master camera man that he is, some of the clips are nearly 10 seconds long. When he browses to a clip he wants, it will play that clip and then go back to the menu. Is there a feature to make it so that it will just keep playing to the end of the disc?

thanks,
Dan

You can use a PLAYLIST. You link a menu-button to a playlist, and the sequence of events follows the playlist. For example, a particular button might cause title 1 to play, then title 3, then go to menu 5. There will be a short time-lag between playlist events... You won't get a continuous video program. (It's probably better that you look this up in the manual and experiment with it than for me to attempt to explain how to do it... :? )

It sounds like you're dropping each 10-second clip into Workshop as a separate TITLE. You might consider using a video editor (i.e. Video Studio) to join the clips together. Then, you can make each clip into a chapter of one (or more) longer programs. You can join the clips with a simple splice, a smooth crossfade transition, or a fancy special-effect transition.

Note that you cannot use a playlist to stop playback at the end of a chapter. You can jump-in at any chapter-point, but control won't pass back to the playlist 'till the end of the title.

Generally, you use a video editor to make a movie or program (title in DVD terminology). When the movie is done, you use DVD authoring software (i.e. Workshop) to do the DVD-specific stuff... Add menus, chapter-points, additional soundtracks, and subtitles.
