Same file size for 3 different files

Post by The Old Timer »

I was trying out the easy palette movies & selected the swinging sign to try out. I changed the name on sign & it rendered out OK at the 135 frames that wass the preset. I then altered the setting to 200 frames & then 300 frames. All 3 rendered out EXACTLY the same. They all ran for the same time & were the same file size. What am I not understanding here?

I just took the same stock movie and rendered it at 135 frames and 270 frames to 24-bit uncompressed AVIs. The results were:

320x240 135 frames/29.97 fps - duration 4.5 seconds approx, file size 29.7 mb
320x240 270 frames/29.97 fps - duration 9 seconds approx, file size 59.3 mb

Except for the fact that C3DPS only rendered 134 and 269 frames respectively, these are the results that I would have expected. I'm not sure what you are doing differently. Maybe more detailed information about what you did would help.

I only changed the name on the file as well as changing the number of frames. I think it's something very basic that I didn't do. Like for instance do I have to also alter the duration or keyframes for each of the other components that went into making up the video?. If the is the case then I dould have thought just changing the number of frames dould produce an error message.

If you use the Project/Modify Frames/Change Duration menu, it should adjust the keyframes for all the objects in the movie accordingly. Alternatively, you can get do the same thing by modifying the number of frames at the bottom of the timeline or by clicking on the check mark at the top of the timeline and selecting change duration.

Other than that, I'm at a loss as to what the problem might be.

Hope that helps.
