Can Edge Preset Photoframes be any colour other than white?

Post by ade.h »

Hello. I've been trying to add an edge preset to a photo - number 26 in this case - and I cannot find any way of changing its colour or making it transparent.

Is there any way to do this? :?:

It is to be used on a webpage with a dark green background and I would like the frame area to either match that colour or be transparent so that the dark green shows through.

Hope someone can help; you have my thanks if you can! :D

Well, you can do two different things. Once you've applied the edge preset, use the magic wand to select the white part. Then fill the white part with a color of your choice.

The other is, after you apply the preset, use the magic wand to select the white part, right-click, Invert, and convert to object. Then drag the image off to a new window and hide the background.

Hi MaryLouW, thanks very much for the reply.

Those two methods sound like they will do exactly what I need. I'll try them out and post a response either way.

Thanks again! :D

Hi again. Just confirm that I got that to work okay. I had to deal with a few orphaned white areas, but that was easily cured by copying the selected area onto a new image and then filling it in.

Thanks for your help.
