Gang,
After two days of fussing with MF4 I finally created a Video DVD that runs on my laptop and desktop PCs. The problem now is that the DVD wil not play on my DVD player that is attached to my TV; it shows "No Disc" on the screen.
Admittedly, mine is a low-end player, but it is new and plays all of my store-bought DVDs and CDs with no problem, including CDs with MPs files.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
(Sorry if this was covered before, but amazingly I have been unable to find mention of this issue in the archives.)

This is another popular one!
The most likely cause is the burning speed. Do not burn at anything faster than 4x. The laser on your DVD writer seems to burn a weaker image to the disc surface at the higher some stand alone DVD players are more fussy than others.
I have found that 4x or less usually produces a DVD that plays in the majority of DVD Players.
Another thing to check is that the DVD player supports DVD -R/+R -RW/+RW. Again not all players are compatible. Paradoxically the cheaper DVD players handle Home made DVD's better than the expensive one's!!

You need to post what type of dvd you are using.
That matters alot.
DVD+R (not always compatible with older players unless you change
the "BookType" to Dvd-Rom.
DVD-R (Compatible). If doesn't work your burning to fast as above.
DVD-RW - Same as DVD+R
DVD+RW - Same as DVD+R
If you used a dvd+r disk try a dvd-r disk.
To change the burning speed in MF click on "Options" that will
display additional parameters for burning.

DVD types?
I'm using DVD+R discs right now. Recorded at my burner's highest DVD burn speed (can't recall at the moment, but I think its 16x).
What disc type is the best overall to use? The range of types makes me dizzy when I go into a Best Buy.
