Trial version freezes up during initialization

Post by vivsavage »

I'm trying to check out the trial version in order to see if I want to buy the product, but it freezes up during the initialization faze (at the 85% mark when initializing audio filters). Anyone have any advice?

To quote from another thread:
"It seems some DirectX Audio Filter in your system is not compatible with MSP Video Editor. If you are using an purchased version of MSP7, please go to http://www.ulead.com/tech/msp/msp_ftp.htm to download and install the latest SP2 patch and then the problem should be fixed.

If it's not fixed, or you are using an trial version of MSP, you can manually change a setting to avoid the conflict. Check bellow setting to disable DirectX Audio Filter Manager in MSP:

Under system drive:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead MediaStudio Pro\7.0\msp.ini, change the setting to 1.

[DXAudMgr]
DisableDXAudio = 1

However, this will cause DirectX manager and its audio filters not to load into Production library of VE."

Also read this post about hardware/software conflicts.

This is weird... I don' have a msp.ini folder, just plain old msp. I opened it anyways, but there is nothing about DXAudioMgr in it. Any ideas?

You may not be displaying extensions of known file types in Windows Explorer.

the msp.ini is a file (not a folder). do you have anything setup where you don't display extensions for known file types? and are any folders hidden?

Yes, I understood the msp.ini is a file. But it isn't there. There is a file that is just "msp", but not msp.ini. If I double click on the msp file, it opens up a notepad document that has all sorts of settings, but no mention of DXAudioMgr. I assume the msp is just not showing the extension, but I still can't find any DXAudioMgr.
EDIT: I just went in and typed out a DXAudioMgr line and ... it worked!
