PI 11 component download difficulties

Post by Cricket »

Two downloads and three installations later, I finally have PI 11 trial version installed on my computer. Like many others on this board though, I am unable to use the smart download feature so I downloaded each component individually to the hard drive but when I go to install, receive an error message that the components won't install because PI 11 can't be found on my computer! Interesting as PI 11 starts without problem so is obviously on the hard drive. The same error message appears for each of the components. Does the problem only occur with trial versions? How can a product be properly evaluated with limited functionality? Also, tech support isn't apparently available for trial versions. So far I've lost 3 hours productivity just installing and researching fixes for the trial version! :x However, before completely giving up on what I've heard is a good product, I'm happy to follow the advice of those experienced with the product. I really would like to evaluate PI 11 on criteria other than ease of installation. Much appreciated.

Only days left of a trial that couldn't be evaluated for lack of functionality and Ulead still hasn't responded to my emailed request for information, which leaves me to conclude that Ulead is either not interested in expanding its client base or has no defense of an inferior product. Either way I am glad to have found out before actually giving them money!

I have been using Ulead, Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, and many other graphic software packages since the days of Shareware, 1990 and forward. Each program has it's benefits and they all have a glitch here or there. My advice spring for the Full disc version rather than wasting your time with downloads.

If you have any Virus and Firewall Protection installed it will eventually damage any download.

Givining up on a product without really testing it is not hurting Ulead, it is hurting you not having found out if this is the package that can do the work you need done.

Nothing in life is prefect and therefore the only truth is persistance.

No, I dio not work for Ulead! AND, as I mentioned I have over 12 other graphic editors all of which suffer from some form of software anemia. Nevertheless, I get my work done and I am payed handsomely for my efforts.

There is something about this on the ulead FAQ site

Sorry but cannot get into it from here to give you the exact link as my company firewall stops me getting into it.
