Archiving HD Footage

Post by krwzmann »

I have a couple of edited HD clips that I want to archive. In the future, when HD-DVD burning is possible for the us consumers, I want to be able to pull those clips back out from the archives so that I can easily author an HD-DVD. Should I be saving the HD Clips as mpeg2 program stream 1080i or mpeg 2 transport stream 1080i?

I've currently been saving the files as wmv 720 30p (auto deinterlace) for playback on my Xbox 360 (takes some hacking and work around) and my Avel Link Player (not really a common player that most consumers would know about) and they look great. I'm trying to look ahead to the future though for when i can actually burn hd clips to a hd dvd disc that is playable without any work arounds. Any insight on the best file format to save in? Any word on what Ulead has planned for this in their future media studio pro programs?

Thanks in Advance

Once the tutorials are re-posted on the site you should look at: VideoStudio 9.0: High Definition Workflow.

For some reason Ulead removed the tutorials after the contest. They will probably be re-posted in the next few days.
