have to reduce video file size

Post by michaelm »

I know it might be a dumb one, but I have a video of one of my products which is about 29 mb (duration is 2 minutes). I have to put this video file on my website and definitely this is way too big. Can you tell me how to make a video file smaller still suitable to be viewed with a certain quality?

I have videostudio 8

Thanks a lot for your help. I've been trying the Share step with not much success but that because I'm a beginner with few notions about video editing...counting on your knowledge.......

bests

michaelm,

Have you tried making a Windows Media file, *.wmv? At 2 minutes, it should be about 5-6 MB.

Ron, thanks a lot for your quick reply. I'm trying right now and will check for the results. Though I don't know what choice I have to make in the share page. Can you guide me through?

Sorry to bother......

Well, I have VS9, but it should be about the same. Go to Share->Create Video File. The Windows Media file is called WMV.

Hope this helps,
