Sometimes I don't want to add video at the beginning of my movie. I will add titles and such. My problem is....how do I add video in the middle of the movie. It always snaps to the beginning of my project. I have solved it by putting the video in the overlay track, but there must be another way. Of course, if I wanted to add an overlay track to my video I can't because I had to put the video in.
Hope I made sense.
video track vs overlay track

Just add a color clip in the beginning. Then you can change the size of that clip to fit the time you need for your titles.
Another option that I did on my recent Holiday Concert was to put an image there and have the titles on top of it. It worked well for me. I have the same image that I used behind my menus and the transition from menu to video start is very nice. I don't know why I had not thought of that before.

Re: video track vs overlay track
Hi
You can cut the video into as many pieces as you like.
Hope this Helps

You have to cut the video using the ‘Scissors’ this splits your video into two thumbnail clips. You can now add other clips at this point.(i.e in the middle of your movie).mm7 wrote:My problem is....how do I add video in the middle of the movie. It always snaps to the beginning of my project.
